Obama Vs. Trump Drama

I was hoping for someone to write about the Obama and Trump drama, and as I was searching through all my classmate's work I found one that really caught my attention. "Political Feud in the Media" by  Dat Lien. In this blog he talks on how the media has focused more on the exchange of words between Mr. Trump and former president Obama. I completely agree with him. I believe the media is making the whole drama even worse just but dramatizing the whole situation. The only thing it is helping with, it's making Trump and Obama look like high school girls gossiping and saying mean stuff to each other. Come on, politics and the sake of all the country it's not something to they should be playing with. There are real issues going on right now.

Personally, the whole Trump thing I see it as a joke. The way he is trying to put himself on the top is by focusing on pointless "rumors" like Obama's birth certificate... and as even Obama said on the White House dinner " now Mr. Trump can focus on the issues that really matter like did we fake the moon landing..." and I believe Obama has a point. It's childish what he is doing and the media is making it even worse.

As my classmate Lien said, "The media should stop dramatizing the exchange of words and focus on the matters that are important." There are way more important issues going on that we should be learning about through media then just making everything worse but dramatizing the Obama and Trump "issue".

What's going on????

As I posted on my profile, I am currently in the Navy Reserves. A couples of weeks ago I heard about the Governments shutdown. It was hard to understand what they were talking about, then I was informed of what was going on. As me being a member of the military off course it was going to affect me. I got a letter from my command saying that I might have to keep going on my drill weekends without getting paid. As you might understand, taking time off from work and having to drive to be in a place where you're losing money just for being there and do NOTHING was kind of hard. I started doing some research, and came to the conclusion that this is really bad. What this country is going through right now is not easy. People are losing their jobs, they rate of homeless people is increasing and this scares me.

A Government shutdown has not been even thought of in many years. To me this means the Government is becoming unstable. Rivalry has always existed between political parties, but this is getting very bad. The two political parties not being able to come to any agreements, is affecting our country big time.

I think the Government should stop their differences outside, stop for a minute and realling think about how all their fighting is affecting us. It's not a game, they are running a whole nation. They're basically playing with our lifes. This is what this government needs right now, they need to focus on the main thing the sanity and stability of their own people!

Commentary On "Are We Really Giving a Helping Hand?"

While reviewing all editorials from my classmates, I found one that really interested me. The name of editorial is "Are We Really Giving a Helping Hand?" by Harry C. and he makes a good point talking on how the Government involvement on international affairs, such as Libya is not really helping. I completely agree with the involvement of Government in Libya it's only affecting our economy even more. I understand that as good Americans we're supposed to help out, but when it includes violence and dropping bombs in another country then that's different. I can just imagine if we were the ones being bombarded by a foreign country if we're struggling. I also think that if the Government knows how critical our economy situation is, then they should be smart enough to know that if you don't have money you can't spend it. You can't help someone else when you're obviously the one that needs help.

My classmate Harry did an amazing job in bringing up this point. It's sad but it's not the first time the Government does this. We're supposed to learn by experience, but apparently this is the case where we won't learn until something REALLY bad happens. So, as my classmate says "Let's hope for the best and prepare for the worst"!!

NEW PRESIDENT AT THE WRONG TIME!!

I remember when I first saw that Obama was running for president, I was in shock. To me having a black president was the sign of change! Something, good was about to happen. This is the mistake. Many of us don't realize that issues cannot be fix with magic. We thought the situation was going to change immediately. I finally came to realize that is not mostly the president, it is the people underneath him who govern this country. It's easy to judge and point fingers and blame everything on the head of our country (president Obama), not realizing that the issues are consequences of something that had already begun since our last president, Mr. Bush.

Everything that is going on in the U.S. is scary. High prices on gas again, uprising of middle eastern countries, creating a huge economical impact on the U.S. and natural catastrophes around the world that have added to this economical downfall. If we think about it, and put our feet in Obama's shoes, it's not easy to be the first black president, which already off course put a big weigh on him, because he did really want to make true his promises. All this is hard, when events that came as a consequence of the past running political party start to come out and create so much chaos in the world's economy.

The day when we all stop blaming each other for stuff and realize that our actions create reaction, then that day we will understand what the truth is, and what's really going on with our country and the world.

New Three-Week GOP Funding Resolution Would Slash Funds For Tsunami Monitoring And Disaster Response

Japan's catastrophe has left the world in shock. As I was looking for blogs to read I encountered one at ThinkProgress, in which they talk about how they will be some national cuts on the budget for the Tsunami Warning Centers.  In the article the author stresses out the fact that in the U.S. specially right now when the Hurricane season is starting we need a good Tsunami and Storm tracking and cutting budges on this agencies could really affect us.

The author, Kevin Donohoe who is an intern for ThinkProgress.org did a great job by providing exact amounts of the budget cut for the agencies. He also provides a lot of information on how this cuts can really affect the U.S. readiness and aware system. He provided good links on proofs on what he says.

Personally, I think he might be right. I believe that we need a strong protection system not only against terrorism but also for natural disasters. Being able to forecast major disaster events can help us be prepared and reduce the amount of life loss. By cutting budgets, is like we are playing a game of feeling too secure. I'm pretty sure that there are many agencies in the government that are not important enough that can be cut down and get the money from that instead of taking money from agencies like FEMA; which are agencies that help us during catastrophes, just like the one in Japan.

Our view: Mideast oil shock threatens U.S., again

As I was searching for articles and editorials I encountered this editorial "Our view: Mideast oil shock threatens U.S., again" at USA TODAY. I was not able to find who the author, but the editorial was very interesting. For years I've been asking the same question on how come the U.S. keeps trying to solve issues overseas when we are just kind of recovering from a very strong economy crisis. This article is a reply to another article "Opposing View: More Drilling Won't Help" . The author has a very good point. The uprising in the middle eastern countries has made big impacts in the prices on for oil. The author says that it has happened before so it's not something new. Every time there is crisis in middle east countries, the world and specially the U.S. has to pay the consequences economically for it. The author also has a good argument on how instead of trying to help stir things up overseas the U.S should invest more money on oil searches around the country.

I believe this article was mainly written for every single citizen in the U.S who has to suffer the consequences of high gas prices. He/she has a point that this behavior has been seen in the past as well and has shown how much crisis overseas impacts the U.S. economy.

I completely agree with the author in someway. He/she says that the U.S. does not have enough oil and I have to disagree. From what I've read, it is to believed that the U.S. has a lot of oil the only problem is that they are not willing to drill in their own land, which has made the U.S. be in the hands of the Middle East when it comes to oil resources.

Barak Obama Urges Hosni Mubarak's Departure, Calls Egyptian Protestors 'Inspiration'

As I was going through almost every newspaper online, I kept seeing the story of how the U.S. helped Egypt to  make such a big step and finally have Democracy. In the ABC News they said how  President Obama basically ordered the president of Egypt to get out.

In interviews, Obama called this transition inspiring for the people around the world. It showed how the Commander in Chief of the most powerful military can help a country make such a big transition in such a peaceful way.  Egypt now becomes one of the most powerful allies of the United States. This change basically means the United States will have to be more involved in Egypt's transition to Democracy.

This uprising from Egypt's citizens is kind of alarming to the United States, due to the fact that it might stir things up in the Middle East and create more uprisings. Which will mean more involvement of the U.S. Military and government.

I will continue to follow up with this story and will post updates!
